Part of Megger's MIT200 series, the MIT220 is a pocket-sized meter, capable of testing insulation to 1000MΩ and continuity testing at 200mA, down to 0.01Ω . The MIT220 offers a combination of digital readout and analog display, as well as a variety of safety and operational features making it ideal for testing transformers, motors, generators switchgear, panel building, domestic appliances, power tools etc., as well as fixed electrical wiring systems.
The Megger MIT220 features both the test insulation and continuity. Insulation can be tested up to 1000 MΩ across both the 250V and 500V range, whilst auto discharge ensures all circuits are safely discharged after testing. This model is auto ranging and provides a variety of safety features, in compliance with IEC 61010 and EN6155. For example, circuits in excess of 25 V will generate a voltage warning and, for circuits over 50 V, the MIT220 will inhibit testing of the insulation, protecting the operator and the instrument from injury or damage.
The MIT220 model also provides automatic continuity testing, performed at 200 mA. There is no need to press any test buttons and therefore leaves the operator "hands free". The continuity range has 0.01Ω resolution and a short circuit current in excess of 200 mA, which can measure continuity up to 100Ω. The MIT220 features test lead zero to compensate for test lead resistance and also a continuity buzzer, with a threshold of 2Ω.
The MIT220's display offers a combination of digital readout and analog display, using Megger’s patented DART display technology, which includes clear LCD readings with an analog pointer response for evaluating circuit charge and discharge characteristics. Housed in tough ABS, the MIT220 is designed to withstand industrial use, whilst being compact enough to fit into a pocket. This model is also battery operated, either with 6 AA alkaline batteries or a nickel metal hydride (NiMH) rechargeable type. A low battery warning indicator gives advanced warning of exhausted batteries and a calibration certificate is also provided.
